And it was just one of those proverbial kids’ dreams come true, ’cause I’d seen him when I was 14 and loved it, and then I saw myself standing at the bottom of the stairs about to go on with him every night. ![]() I would stand backstage after our gig and he would play with his band for about half an hour, and then he’d get my whole band on-stage as well and we would play four or five songs, all together. Then a few years ago he asked me and my band to open for him on a U.S. “At the time, I was starting classical music,” relates Liebert, “and he sort of inspired me to try something else. It turns out that the first concert Liebert ever went to, when he was 14, was a Santana gig. “I said, ‘You know, flamenco’s really just the blues of the Gypsies,’ and then I thought, ‘Well, what’s the most bluesy instrument for me? Definitely Dobro, slide guitar.’ So I invited Eric to come down for a couple of days and just put a bunch of slide guitar on the album.”Īs if Schermerhorn’s tasty slide bits and his own vibrant flamenco stylings weren’t enough to satiate six-string fanatics, Liebert comes through with “Ballad 4 Santana”, a Latin-tinged tribute to guitar legend Carlos Santana. “The idea with the slide guitar just came from a conversation one evening with a friend of mine,” says Liebert. While Liebert’s flamenco guitar is always front and centre on Innamorare, bottleneck aficionados will appreciate the subtle slide shadings of Eric Schermerhorn, who also contributes some flattop picking to the disc. So it has a bigger sound, also because of the horns.” There’s quite a few instruments on there that I’ve never used before, muted trumpet being one, slide guitar another, a drum kit being a third-I’ve never used a complete drum kit. “There’s been a lot of albums in between where I was on a musical journey, but I’m sort of returning, at least feelwise, to 10 years ago-although the sound is quite different. “I’ve been a happy camper,” admits Liebert, who found inspiration for his current CD during a seven-week stay in Tuscany with family and friends. Accompanied by his eight-piece band, Luna Negra XL-which he brings to the Vogue Theatre for a “huge rhythm fest” next Thursday (June 17)-Liebert is making blissful music that brings to mind the joyous vibe of his 1990 debut, Nouveau Flamenco. At least, that’s what you’d guess after hearing the guitarist’s new CD, Innamorare-Summer Flamenco. Liebert’s feathered friend probably has a more nurturing environment to learn in. Maybe my budgie was a tad on the deaf side, though, since it used to share the living room with my 100-watt stereo and heavy doses of Thin Lizzy, Blue Oyster Cult, and Montrose. I had a chirpin’ bird once myself, but it was no African grey, just a plain old Chilliwackian blue, and it couldn’t mimic any scary voices-even with a steady stream of horror flicks to cull from. ![]() Suddenly, she heard this voice, ‘Redrum, redrum,’ and he mimicked the movie perfectly.” ![]() to play on a Mexican pop song, and when I came back, it was 1 o’clock in the morning and my wife was on the phone with her sister ’cause the bird was freakin’ her out. ![]() And a friend of mine was here from London for just a coupla days, and in those two days he somehow managed to teach him ‘Redrum’ from The Shining. He does telephones very well, too, which is annoying. “It’s just one bird,” explains Liebert with a chuckle. There’s a constant chirping in the background, the likes of which I haven’t heard since Tippi Hedren got pecked in that old Alfred Hitchcock flick. When Ottmar Liebert calls the Georgia Straight from his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, it sounds as if the popular flamenco guitarist is living in a bird sanctuary. The defense played three video clips of the incident at the motel that were captured on a cellphone by a motel employee. The defendant had no answer to the question other than that he was convinced it was the Honkies. Skouby questioned why he never looked out the peep hole in the door of the room or out the window to see who was at his door if he never heard police announce their presence. “I’m saying I felt justified in shooting someone who was out to harm me.” “That’s not what I’m saying,” Fitchpatrick replied. He testified that when he heard a knock on the door of his room at the motel and a member of the Ozarks Drug Enforcement Team identify himself as a motel maintenance man in a ruse to get him to open the door, he figured something was up, set the methamphetamine he was peddling and a book bag containing $7,000 to $9,000 in drug-dealing proceeds in the bathroom of the room and grabbed his pistol. ![]() “I thought somebody was coming to rob me,” Fitchpatrick told jurors when he took the witness stand in his own defense on the second day of a trial moved to Pineville from Newton County on a change of venue. ![]() ![]() Louis man innocent of assault and armed criminal action in the March 1, 2017, serious wounding of Murray, 29, at the Econo Lodge motel on South Range Line Road in Joplin. Skye spots him, but karma beat her to Humdinger when he wasn't looking where he was going before the carrier hits a log and flings him off into a nearby gorge, leaving him hanging for dear life from a protruding tree branch. With the Catastrophe Crew under arrest by Chase's paws, Humdinger resorts to using the carrier the Catastrophe Crew ride in to take the lead via a shortcut out of sight of the other mayors. Unfortunately for him, Chase's allergies alerted Ryder to spot his kitten counterpart, confirming his suspicions that Humdinger was cheating all along. During the second leg, the swimming portion, when Humdinger again finds himself falling behind, he signals Chase's kitten counterpart to launch sardines into the water, attracting dolphins to inhibit Goodway and the other mayors, allowing him to win the second leg. As the rowboat portion begins, Humdinger finds himself falling behind, so he uses Zuma's kitten counterpart to covertly take the lead and win the first leg. The next day, the Triathlon begins, with Goodway, Humdinger, and three other mayors being the competitors. The team deploys, and Marshall joins the Mayor in helping her build up her stamina for the running leg of the race. Once there, Ryder explains that Mayor Goodway needs their help to train for the Triathlon, and assigns Chase to train her in the running portion while having Rocky fix her boat for the rowboat leg. These colours are considered the base colours, as they cannot be created by mixing other colours. The primary colours are red, blue, and yellow. Let's take a closer look at each group and their respective colours. The modern colour wheel consists of three primary colour groups: primary, secondary, and tertiary. This led to the creation of the first colour wheel, a tool that has been adapted and refined throughout history. After observing the dispersion of white light into a spectrum of colours through a prism, he arranged these colours in a circle to demonstrate the relationships between them. It was Sir Isaac Newton, however, who first constructed a colour wheel in 1666. His ideas laid the groundwork for the development of colour theory. The Greek philosopher Aristotle was among the first to explore the relationships between colours, theorising that they were created through the mixture of light and dark. The concept of a wheel of colours dates back to antiquity. When choosing the best camera for landscape photography, brand is important, but not as much as individual camera quality. In this case you’ll want to make sure you have a camera that produces clear images with the least amount of noise at higher ISO numbers. For example, when shooting long exposure photos, you might not want to change shutter speed or aperture settings, so an ISO adjustment is necessary. For instance, if you want to take night photography or capture the Milky Way, you may need to use higher ISO numbers to properly expose your subject. While using higher ISO settings is often seen as being more important for action and sports photography, it can also be quite handy for nature photography. This will give you more data to work with to create just the image you want. You can then merge these images together in Lightroom or Photoshop to create a high dynamic range (HDR) image. Plus, you’ll be able to work with a much larger variety of wide-angle lenses. Your over all image quality will be better with a larger sensor.
